4-Day Snowmobile Expedition | April 3–6, 2026

Join us on a unique snowmobile expedition through Svalbard’s wild and majestic landscapes. Over four unforgettable days, we take you from Longyearbyen, via the abandoned Russian mining town of Pyramiden, to the polar bear territory on the east coast – and back again. This adventure combines raw wilderness, historical settlements, and memories you’ll never forget.

Day 1 – Longyearbyen to Pyramiden

The adventure begins in Longyearbyen with the distribution of snowmobile gear and a safety briefing. Then we set off towards Pyramiden – a Russian ghost town surrounded by spectacular Arctic scenery.

Along the way, we cross valleys, mountains, glaciers, and sea ice, stopping for photos, lunch, and short breaks to take in the landscape. Upon arrival in Pyramiden, we check into the hotel, explore the mysterious settlement, and end the day with a delicious four-course dinner.

Day 2 – Fjords and Wilderness

Today, we explore the areas around Pyramiden. Riding our snowmobiles through fjords and wilderness, we search for wildlife – seals, reindeer, birds, and maybe even polar bear tracks. The scenery alone is breathtaking.

After a day full of adventure, we return to Pyramiden for dinner and a restful night at the hotel.

Day 3 – East Coast and Polar Bear Territory

Now the expedition truly begins. After breakfast, we ride towards the east coast – the realm of the polar bear. Weather permitting, we traverse massive glaciers along the way.

We set up a wilderness camp, ride across sea ice between icebergs, observe wildlife, and experience the Arctic at its rawest. Nighttime polar bear watch is shared among participants – an authentic expedition experience under the midnight sun or a starry sky.

Day 4 – Return to Longyearbyen

On the final day, we ride from east to west through Van Mijenfjorden – one of Svalbard’s prime hunting grounds for seals and polar bears. We stop for lunch with views of two impressive glacier fronts.

Weather permitting, we may also visit the Russian settlement of Barentsburg before returning to Longyearbyen in the evening – tired, but filled with memories to last a lifetime.

Important Information

• This is a snowmobile expedition – you must be prepared for real Arctic conditions.
• Bring good camera lenses – we always keep a safe distance from polar bears (minimum 500 meters).
• Guides prioritize safety and determine where we can stop.
• You will still experience unique rides on sea ice, close to icebergs, with breathtaking views.
• All participants take part in polar bear watch on the east coast – an unforgettable part of expedition life.
