Description
The east coast is known as the polar bear’s kingdom. Take a trip through Svalbard’s magnificent scenery. The tour starts at 09 o’clock from Longyearbyen and we drive through Adventdalen towards Sassendalen. We make several stops to enjoy Svalbard’s majestic nature and there will be opportunities for taking pictures. We cross the glacier across to the east coast where we stop the sea ice to have lunch in front of the massive glacier front of Mohn Bay. An maybe we can spot the King of the Arctic at the same time! We are not allowed to seek bear, but if we use the binoculars well, we may observe this majestic animal safely.
If conditions allows it, we take a trip out on the seaice and drive among the icebergs that have frozen for winter. From the east coast we can look over towards Barents and Edge Island if the weather is good.
We enjoy the tranquility and the untouched nature, the sea ice and the icebergs. This is Svalbard at its best!

We recommend that everyone drives their own snowmobile; this is easier than driving with a passenger. This trip is dependent on weather and ice conditions, especially early and late in the season, as well as a minimum number of participants.

Recommended: We recommend you wear warm clothing, On colder days an extra set of gloves as a liner to our mittens, A mid-layer consisting of a sweater and pants in fleece or wool is advisable, Down jackets, or other heavily insulated clothing, are not recommended beneath the snowmobile suit. Our snowmobiles do not have a storage compartment, so a small backpack could be useful for cameras, extra jackets, and other small items
